THE WORLD EXPERIENCE OF DEVELOPMENT
OF PRODUCTION CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES
AND RUSSIAN REFORMS

Artificial barriers and restrictions were put on the way to finding their niche by the Russian production co-operative societies.
First, since 1-st January, 1991 the date of putting the law of the RF "About enterprises and business activity" into effect production cooperative societies were struck off the list of organisational legal forms of enterprises.
Second, restrictions of recruiting hired workers were absent in the USSR law About Co-operation in the USSR."
Third, production co-operative societies had no right to participate in privatising auctions and competitions.
After putting into effect the first part of the Civil Code production cooperative societies obtained recognition as an equal organisational legal form of economic activities. But many problems remained.
Some provisions of the RF Civil Code and the federal law "About Pr6duction Co-operative Societies" are controversial.
