OVERCOMING ESTRANGEMENT OF LABOUR IN CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES

Estrangement is a social procress of changing activity of men and its results into a self-dependent force having domination over men and being hostile to them. It manifests it self in domination of materialized labour over live labour", in turning a person into an object of exploitation and manipulation, in making a fetish of social relations. With the development of private property labour loses its characteristics of expressing human creative power and becomes estranged. Consumption and possession of things becomes the purport of life of an estranger man. Philosophers mention different ways of overcoming estrangement. A co-operative form of economy can be considered as one of them. It follows from the very principles of co-operative movement. It is also in keeping with two strategic trends which are most important from the point of view of the future of mankind: self-restriction strategy and cooperation strategy. The advantage of the co-operative system is in its high adaptability and possibility of developing in any social and economic structure.
